Student-athlete Igor Nykyforuk and his coaches were awarded President of Ukraine scholarships

Igor Nykyforuk, the 3rd year student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was awarded a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships for the third place at the World Youth Championship of free wrestling and was awarded Presidential Scholarship of 6 subsistence minimums for able-bodied individuals, According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine №138 / 2020 “On awarding scholarships of the President of Ukraine for outstanding and young and promising athletes and their coaches of Ukraine in Olympic sports”.

The same decree provides scholarships to his coaches – Honored Ukrainian Free Wrestling Coach Ivan Kurylyuk and Honored Master of Sports in Ukraine Free Wrestling Vasyl Fedoryshyn in the amount of 1.5 subsistence minimum for able-bodied individuals.           

It is worth noting that in January this year the Vasyl Fedoryshyn Academy of the Precarpathian Region was solemnly opened at the Precarpathian National University. The head coach of the Academy is honored coach of Ukraine in free wrestling Ivan Kurilyuk. The first athletes of the Wrestling Academy of the Precarpathian Region were the students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the Precarpathian University with Igor Nykyforuk among them.
